是次遊學團在2024年6月24日至6月28日出發到訪韓國。透過是次遊學團,學生可以探索韓國的旅遊規劃,到訪不同類型的景點,以體驗式學習加深其對旅遊與款待業發展的認識。
韓國是旅遊資源豐富的國家,揉合傳統文化及現代文化,一直以不同旅遊形式吸引國際旅客。本團參觀的景點類型由大眾的閒暇觀光景點,如HiKR韓國旅遊局、首爾塔和明洞商圈等,到深入的文化景點,如首爾韓方振興中心、地道水產市場、景福宮及北村韓屋等均有到訪。而且為配合本年度學校關注推動STEM教育,學生實地考察韓國所推出的「智慧旅遊城市」政策,瞭解韓國如何運用科技推動旅遊業發展,其中包括仁川的開港場街及世界文化遺產—水原華城。 學生透過參觀韓國首爾科技展覽及企業,如Samsung DS Tower、首爾能源中心等,瞭解韓國的新科技發展,藉此提升學生創意思維及對學習的興趣。學生亦參觀了梨花女子大學,由大學學生擔任導賞員,帶領學生一同遊覽校園,瞭解海外升學。
對於修讀旅遊與款待科的學生而言,是次遊學團可以直接將所學知識應用到環境之中,過程期間可以觀察導遊及領隊的工作,體驗航空公司及酒店的服務,從中獲得寶貴的學習機會。
Our STEM Trip to South Korea 2024
Our study tour will take place from June 24 to June 28, 2024, offering students an unforgettable journey to South Korea. Through this program, students will have the opportunity to explore travel planning in Korea and visit a variety of attractions, deepening their understanding of the development of the tourism and hospitality industry through experiential learning.
South Korea is a country rich in tourism resources, blending traditional and modern cultures that attract international travelers. During this trip, students will visit various types of attractions, including popular leisure spots such as the Korea Tourism Organization (HiKR), N Seoul Tower, and the Myeongdong shopping district. Additionally, we will delve into cultural sites, including the Seoul Hanbang Promotion Center, local seafood markets, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Bukchon Hanok Village, allowing students to gain a comprehensive understanding of Korea's culture and history.
In alignment with this year's school initiative to promote STEM education, students will also conduct field studies on Korea's "Smart Tourism City" policy, learning how technology is driving the development of the tourism industry. Key locations for exploration include Incheon's Open Port Street and the UNESCO World Heritage site, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, enabling students to experience the fusion of technology and tourism firsthand.
Throughout the trip, students will visit exhibitions and enterprises showcasing South Korea's technological advancements, such as the Samsung DS Tower and the Seoul Energy Center. This exposure will not only enhance their creative thinking but also stimulate their interest in learning. Moreover, students will tour Ewha Womans University, where university students will serve as tour guides, providing insights into overseas study opportunities.
For students studying tourism and hospitality, this study tour will allow them to directly apply their acquired knowledge in real-world settings. Throughout the experience, they will observe the roles of tour guides and team leaders, as well as experience services in airlines and hotels, gaining invaluable learning opportunities.
We believe that this study tour to South Korea will provide students with rich educational experiences, enhance their practical understanding of the tourism and hospitality industry, and inspire their future learning and career development potential.

五位中五修讀物理的同學參加了由ICE Hong Kong Association Graduates and Students Division 舉辦的比賽,並在下學期出席多個由機構舉辦的工程知識工作坊,每次也有不同的挑戰讓多隊優秀隊伍競爭。下圖正是本校同學在一次搭建紙橋比賽獲得獎項的時刻,他們利用一些剛學懂的土木工程原理,例如三角結構,錯位接駁提升紙橋的堅韌度等,建造了一道承重力高而物料重量很輕的紙橋。在測試成功一刻,同學均對自己出乎意料的成果感到鼓舞。
Shaping Our Future City
Five Form 5 physics students took part in a competition organized by the ICE Hong Kong Association Graduates and Students Division and attended engineering workshops in the second semester. The image below shows the moment they received an award in a paper bridge-building contest. They used civil engineering principles, like triangular structures, to build a strong but lightweight paper bridge.

理科(物理、化學、生物和綜合科學科)和數學科於5月14日合辦數理日,讓同學在不同學科展出的攤位中,透過參與不同數學遊戲和科學實驗,了解數理有趣之處。同學不但體驗到科學科「威力強勁」的空氣炮,在化學科遇到接二連三跑出「白色巨蛇」,更在生物科那邊見識到血腥的「屍骸」,稍移玉步來到物理科,竟出現違反物理原理的乒乓球在逆流而上,同學最後在數學科那邊動動腦筋,破解謎題,一個歡愉的數理日不知不覺間便過去。
The Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Integrated Science) and Mathematics departments co-hosted a Science and Mathematics Day on May 14, allowing students to explore the fascinating aspects of these subjects through various booths. By participating in different math games and scientific experiments, students experienced the air cannon in the science section, encountered a series of "white giant snakes" in the chemistry section, and witnessed gruesome "corpses" in the biology area. Moving over to the physics section, they were surprised to see ping pong balls defying the principles of physics by flowing upstream. Finally, in the mathematics section, students exercised their minds to solve puzzles. A joyful Science and Mathematics Day had come to an end.

作為東華三院呂潤財紀念中學,我們一直致力於推動學生在科技和體育方面的全面發展。2024年,我們有幸參加了香港學界無人機足球邀請賽,這是一次既具挑戰性又富有教育意義的比賽,旨在提升學生的實踐能力和團隊合作精神。
在比賽前期,我們精心安排了一系列的無人機足球訓練課程,旨在幫助學生掌握無人機的基本操作和飛行技巧,同時強調戰略思維和團隊合作的重要性。學生們在課堂上學習了比賽規則,並參與了多次模擬訓練。這些訓練不僅增強了他們的技術能力,還培養了他們的自信心和解決問題的能力。

最令人振奮的是,我們的學生最終在比賽中獲得了團體賽中學組的冠軍!這一成就不僅是對他們辛勤努力的肯定,更是我們學校在推動無人機足球及STEM教育方面的有力證明。在頒獎典禮上,看到學生們手捧獎盃,臉上洋溢著自豪的笑容,讓我們感到無比欣慰。
比賽結束後,我們特別組織了與其他學校參賽者的交流環節,讓學生們有機會分享經驗與心得,探討無人機足球的技術與策略,並建立友誼。這種互動不僅拓展了他們的視野,也激發了他們對未來學習的興趣,促進了學校間的交流與合作。

As Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Lui Yun Chai Memorial Secondary School, we are committed to promoting the comprehensive development of our students in both technology and sports. In 2024, we were honored to participate in the Hong Kong Drone Football Invitational, an event that provided both challenges and valuable educational experiences, aimed at enhancing students' practical skills and teamwork spirit.
In the lead-up to the competition, we meticulously organized a series of drone football training courses to help students master the basic operation and flying techniques of drones, while emphasizing the importance of strategic thinking and teamwork. Students engaged in lessons on competition rules and participated in multiple simulation training sessions. These training not only improved their technical abilities but also fostered their confidence and problem-solving skills.
On the day of the competition, our team was filled with anticipation and excitement. As a school, our responsibility was to support and encourage students, allowing them to showcase what they had learned and enjoy the thrill of competition. During the matches, our students demonstrated outstanding teamwork and technical skills. They skillfully applied their knowledge, effectively communicating and coordinating to maneuver their drones into optimal positions, resulting in thrilling offensive and defensive plays.
The most exhilarating moment came when our students ultimately secured the championship in the Secondary School Group of the team competition! This achievement not only affirmed their hard work but also served as a testament to our school’s commitment to promoting drone football and STEM education. Witnessing our students proudly holding the trophy at the awards ceremony, with smiles of joy on their faces, filled us with immense pride and satisfaction.
After the competition, we organized a special session with participants from other schools, providing students with the opportunity to share their experiences and insights, discuss drone football techniques and strategies, and build friendships. This interaction not only broadened their horizons but also ignited their interest in future learning, fostering communication and collaboration among schools.
Overall, participating in the Hong Kong Drone Football Invitational was an unforgettable experience. We not only enhanced our students' technical capabilities but also cultivated their sense of teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Moving forward, we will continue to support students in participating in such activities, allowing them to explore and grow in the wave of technology while shining brightly in the world of drone football!

In 2023, the "Inter-School Artificial Intelligence Edge Formula Competition" was held in Hong Kong, aiming to foster students' interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This innovative competition uniquely combines racing with artificial intelligence (AI), providing participants with a platform to explore and learn about AI-related knowledge and skills while applying them in practice. Students not only experienced the design, programming, and debugging of autonomous racing cars but also gained insights into the broad applications of artificial intelligence in modern technology.
